Be Ready for Baby by BABIES (Birth and Baby, Information, Education, Support) is a fun, practical and informative baby care course for expectant parents. The class is new to Welwyn Garden City and aims to give first-time parents-to-be the confidence and knowledge to care for their newborns. The course is facilitated by Emily Flax, Mum to 15-month-old Benjamin and a graduate of Be Ready for Baby! Emily attended the course in 2017 and loved it so much she decided to train last year to help share the course with other parents.
We are now taking bookings for our Spring classes and here is why you should book …..
It is a practical, hands-on class
The class is very informative with lots of information and tips, but it is also very practical and hands-on, getting you used to caring for your newborn. With life-size baby dolls, you will practice holding, feeding, burping, nappy changes, dressing your baby and much more! Our aim is for you to finish the course with confidence, knowing you can do all the things your baby will need.
It is accredited
Be Ready for Baby is an accredited course and it is standardised across all of our teachers, so we are quality assured. Amongst the accreditations is the Department of Health CANparent Quality Mark, which we are the ONLY antenatal class in the country to have received! The mark shows that our organisation is “delivering quality approved classes based on sound evidence”. So, you can rest assured that our course content is reliable, current and of a very high standard.
It increases parental confidence
Our aim is for you to leave the course with increased confidence in your ability to care for your newborn and we get brilliant feedback from attendees saying that the course has achieved just that! We want to not only give you the knowledge and skills to meet your baby’s needs in areas such as feeding, changing and dressing, but to also provide you with information so you can make informed decisions about your baby and increase awareness of possible problems – giving you the confidence to spot what is normal and what is not.
Babies finally come with a manual!
All course attendees will receive our Be Ready for Baby Manual – a 60-page manual packed full of useful tips, information, in addition to a local directory for the area in which you live. It includes everything covered in the course, so if you do want to check anything when a baby arrives, you can look it up anytime you need to – often helpful during those 2 am nappy changes!
Finally, it’s fun!
The course is relaxed and fun – we want to make everyone attending the course to feel relaxed and enjoy it. We encourage our parents to get involved and with the practical demos, we get a lot of giggles!
The next session is being run on 3 March and 10 March, and we are now taking bookings. For more information please see www.babies.uk.com or email firstname.lastname@example.org
